Bradshaw Orrell Turned 'Green' Into 'Chic' at the Proximity HotelMarch 17, 2009
The Bluebell Garden between the hotel and Print Works Bistro contain only native plant species and use a low flow drip type irrigation system. The view through the social lobby to the garden. Something in my house is going to be painted chartreuse because of these doors!
The Print Works bar is solid Walnut salvaged from naturally fallen trees.
Member of IFDA Carolinas are enjoying the City Suite sitting area. 7-foot windows have operable panes for fresh air.
The social lobby on the lower level is connected to the upper portion by two custom spiral staircases.
Every room in the hotel has original art by local artist Chip Holton. Holton worked in a temp studio on site and created over 500 pieces for Proximity. You have to get close up to these pieces; they are gorgeous.
