San Francisco-based Council wins 2009 ICFF Editors Award for Furniture

May 19, 2009

San Francisco-based Council was awarded the 2009 ICFF Editors Award for Furniture, pictured here is the Periodic Table and the Mute chair.

San Francisco-based Council was awarded the 2009 ICFF Editors Award for Furniture, and as their name suggests, they’re all about collaboration. A truly global group of designers, Derek Chen, Khodi Feiz, Arik Levy, Mike and Maaike, One & Co., Monica Forster, Cedric Ragot, and Nendo came together to target what they believe to be a growing market of design savvy consumers.

Above are two pieces from Council’s collections: The surreal Periodic Table by One & Co., Jonah Becker, Claude Zellweger, and Scott Croyle, is a massive block of wood coated with a brilliant layer of silver. And the serenely elegant Mute chair by Mike Simonian and Maaike Evers, better known as simply Mike and Maaike, easily inspires calm.
