The Perfect Little Sofa Courtesy of Matthew Hilton

May 14, 2009

Oscar by Matthew Hilton is at one moment traditional and tailored, the next time you look it’s modern and cushy.
I certainly don’t have to tell you guys how fab London-based designer Matthew Hilton is, but have you seen Oscar? One moment it’s traditional and tailored, the next time you look it’s modern and cushy. And always perfect, like those little black dresses women get to wear and I don’t. All this sofa needs is an little strand of Mikimoto pearls!

I agree this is a really nice looking sofa. Can you provide more information about the construction? The cushions look very inviting, but the deck looks very thin. A good black dress and the perfect sofa are definitely investment pieces - I keep them a long time.

Check out this site (scp.co.uk) for more on the Matthew Hilton sofa. I haven't seen it in person so I can't attest to construction details though my gut tells me it's exceptionally well made.

This sofa has caught me and, happily, won't let go. Unfortunately, I don't know any store here in the U.S. selling Hilton's "Oscar". Any hope that this is now stateside?
