Designers on Design: best things, concepts, places of 2007-Paul Thompson

November 30, 2007

1) When I began the complete renovation of my apartment this summer, I started with the kitchen. Even though any renovation can be a headache, I was thrilled to finally find the refrigerator of my dreams!  The Leibherr Model #CS1350 is tall, thin (with plenty of room) and has an ice maker to boot. (See picture at http://www.leibherr-appliances.com/products_cs1350.htm ). It is priced at less than Sub Zero, more than Maytag, but for style and function, it was worth every penny!

2) Constantly moving the OneCoast showroom spaces, and the products within, I rely heavily on a good source for fixtures, cabinetry and tables.  I’d be lost without KC Store Fixtures. This company basically does stock production, but their team of craftsmen has delivered my specialty requests on time and at affordable prices.  (See picture of NDOne cabinets and the birch leg tables).

3) Last but not least – I couldn’t live without my Blackberry. I travel so much of the time and need to be in constant touch with vendors, suppliers and employees. This phone that also allows access to my computer is a life saver.  Hard to believe since I was one of those that resisted the whole idea of a cell phone when they first hit the market. It didn’t take long for me to realize it could be my best friend. Who doesn’t love texting...
