Designer events: Stuart Karten, Roderick Shade, Florence De Dampierre, Lloyd Princeton
September 2, 2009
Sept. 3, 2009 -- A.N.T. GALLERY, created by Venice-based furniture, product and interior designer Ilan Dei as a forum for discourse between art, nature and technology, is hosting "Connecting Creativity and Commerce," presented by award-winning industrial designer Stuart Karten. Karten blends art and technology to develop products that are simple to use, yet capture users' imaginations. This process of "connecting creativity and commerce" involves getting into people's minds and finding hot points that get them excited. Using case studies from his work, Karten will share his strategies for customer-driven product design. The event starts at 7 pm, Sept. 3rd, at the A.N.T. Gallery, 2100 Zeno Place, Venice, Ca. RSVP to info@ilandeistudio.com
About A.N.T. -- A.N.T. Gallery is itself a commentary on the relationship between the
elements it celebrates: art, nature and technology. Dei created the space out of a recycled shipping container, then transformed the inside into a serene gallery space using salvaged wood floors, clean white walls and an innovative skylight that runs the length of the building. The skylight is arched and open at each end allowing wind to flow through the space, keeping it cool and reminding those inside of the forces of nature that surround them.
