Design Forecast for 2008-Doug Wilson

January 12, 2008 Natural and cultural elements dominate 2008 trends especially when it comes to colors. The trend follows larger developments of eco-consciousness and globalization. Nature’s inspiration goes beyond the usual greens and earth tones browns to include elemental stone tones, nuanced neutrals, rich brights and serene water colors. Global influences bring in ethnic flavors in jewel tone colors like deep oranges, purples, reds, and yellows, which compliment each other in many ways. Pops of color will be evident in all elements of the home in furniture, textiles and accents. --Doug Wilson

I hope Doug's health is good because tonight I watched Moving up and he looks like he got very very skinny. I have a bad feeling that he's sick.

My Wife & I Love Moving Up, and the New Episodes that just started. We noticed how Thin and Sickly Doug is looking in these New Episodes. In addition, he seems much more subdued with the homeowners than in in the older shows, where he pretty much said what he pleased. Would like to see the OLD Doug back!!!
Hope he is OK, and sure would like to see some info on his health.

I was just trying to find out any information on Doug. We just watched Moving Up and he looks so ill. I guess we were not the only ones that noticed. The addition of all the make up is not a good thing either, it really gives an odd appearance to a very handsome man. I hope he is feeling okay.

Doug is find. I sat down and talked with him for about 20 mins in Feb at a home show in NJ. He has just got back down to his original weight when he started TS. Since he was filming close to home last year - he wasn't eating out alot at fast food and lost weight.

Not only did he look EXTREMELY thin, but his make up was ridiculous! It was so heavy, it was VERY OBVIOUS that he had blush and lip color on. I wonder what's up?! Plus the show was rather slow, he wasn't as enthusiastic as usual.

I noticed also that Doug was very thin and had lots of makeup on. I really hope he's OK! He seems different and just...sickly...his loss of weight is really noticeable. Hope he's OK, he's my FAVORITE!!! :):)

Aunt of a Fan commented:

Well I've seen him closeup and personal without makeup on and he doesn't look sick. I sat right next to him and when he hugged me he didn't feel boney. Yes he is thin, but he's not a big man, tall- yes, but bone structure wise not large framed. So he didn't look too thin or sickly to me. I have nephew's built like him.

I've never been here before - but I Googled Doug's name just to try and find out what's going on. Doug looks awful! He is extremely thin - his shirt collar hung around his neck. He also seemed weak. In every room he either sat or laid down. I'm concerned.

Aunt of a Fan commented:

Doug is not sick! I saw him February and he was find. I talked to the man for 20 mins. He wasn't too thin or sickly looking in person. He has a very busy schedule and is constantly on the run. And maybe doesn’t always eat regularly. Though on the show “Making it Home – Greensboro” they filmed him eating all the time! Right now he's home in Illinois as he just had the opening of his restaurant this weekend.
And I’m sure there are plenty of people from Sullivan, IL that can tell you he’s find.

Well, "Aunt of a fan".. I notice that you say the same thing in every forum about Doug. You say, you've just recently seen him and he is fine (or "find" as you put it)! I really find it hard to believe as everyone else seems to think that Doug looks very ill. Are you his PR person or something? Paid to quash rumors that he is sick until he has a press conference announcing he's seriously ill perhaps??? Sounds fishy to me Auntie Fanny!!!

Why so hostile Leo? Do you want him to be really sick or dying? I'm not the only person who has met him recently and said he looked good and healthy. I mean gosh - when the man gained weight everyone had a comment to make - said he looked terrible and needed to lose a few pounds. Now that he has - they all have him really sick or dying! And for the record I'm not his PR person.

Friend of Dougs commented:

He is fine!!! I see him every day and he is very healthy and at a good weight for his frame. He may be pale - but that is because he is inside all the time - no time in the sun.

He is very very busy with opening Doug Wilson's Jibby's (fantastic place!) his design business as well as all of his TLC shows.

I'm sure he would appreciate the concern - but seriously folks - he is just fine.

I just saw Doug last night at his new restaurant~Doug Wilson's Jibby's. He looked wonderful. Yes, he is think but not too thin for his frame. His color looked good and he was happy, friendly, and carrying on conversations with all the patrons. Maybe at the time of the taping he was just exhausted from the total gutting/designing of his new restaurant, doing Guys and Dolls on live theatre, and taping for TLC.
He looked and acted awesome last night~even when he hugged us good night and thanked us for coming into the restaurant.

I live in Sullivan,IL and Doug's resturant, Jibby's, is doing great. He socializes with the locals and he's doing fine. He completely changed Jibby's from what it used to look like, much better improvement! I love that he's brought some class to Sullivan.

I'm not buying that Doug is fine. Seriously folks, if you still look way too thin after having layers of clothes on, then hey, something is going on, especially since we all know he weighed more and looked healthier before and the paleness, come on no sun!! I know someone that pale and it's not due to being inside all day. I hope he's fine, I'm a fan, but I'm not buying this story.

I'm watching Moving Up right now after having NOT seen it for awhile and am shocked at Doug's look! He's loaded up with make-up, his hair is long and, dare I say it? cut in a feminine style. His nipples were showing thru his pullover shirt! They almost broke thru the TV screen! ;-) Seriously, what is all this about???

Okay, it's a week later and I thought I'd tune into Moving Up and see if my reaction to Doug's appearance would be the same as last time. It's different. It's worse. I can't believe this is the same man from Trading Spaces ("man" being the questionable noun). He looks weird and feminine and downright creepy. The eye make-up, the hair, the rosy lips. It's enough to make me sick. What is the DEAL????

His hair was long for a Movie he filmed this year - he may not have cut it yet in case any refilming has to be done. While I agree I prefer his hair short - saying he looks creepy (or a woman) is a little over the top . . . .
