Green Expectations -- is "green" here to stay?
September 30, 2007
I hope this is not a trend because there’s no turning back the clock on this one. It is a learning process – being aware of water source, energy waste, etc., and each day we have to be more concerned about what we can do to help save this planet. When designing, I always consider functionality instead of just looks. In my personal life, I own a solar pond fountain, make organic fertilizer, and recycle as I can. It makes you feel good when you see some progress from your efforts.
It also makes you feel good to work with companies who are making a difference. I just signed to do some product for Atuto, a wonderful company based in Honduras that is committed to improving life for the local artisans and residents. They started a foundation several years ago to help hurricane victims that’s evolved into an ongoing effort to provide community services, housing for elders and assistance for at-risk children. (photos are from Randy's working trip to Honduras last week. This week he's at the High Point Market with new product at NAPA Home & Garden )
