Yuck at first sight...
August 23, 2007

My approach to showrooms involves creating an inviting ambiance by engaging all the senses. Appropriate music is a must; so is using candles and adding a touch of fragrance to the room. This combination is disarming and relaxing for the client. One thing I really don’t like is dried floral arrangements. They don’t appeal to any of the senses and they make the room look worn and dated. Another absolute is having approachable staff. They should be friendly and welcoming, and not just stare at the client when he or she enters the store. --Barclay Butera
