High Point Design Center to host "Unity in Design" Feb. 18-20
February 8, 2010
The second annual Unity in Design event, featuring a variety of educational workshops and networking events for designers, will take place Feb 18-20 in High Point.
Sponsored by the High Point Design Center, an umbrella organization for several design organizations and showrooms that cater to designers, the event also will allow attendees to shop in showrooms from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Feb. 18 to 19.
On Feb. 20, a trade show will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the ballroom of the International Home Furnishings Center. The show will feature more than 30 vendors of furniture, fabrics, flooring, kitchen and bath, art and lighting products for the residential and commercial markets.
"We are very proud to have organized an event that will give attendees a lot of bang for their buck," said Shannon Hamed, event chair for the High Point Design Center. "Our goal is to make more and more designers aware of the amazing resources available to them, not only during the High Point market, but throughout the year."
Educational seminars include presentations on wood furniture, the applications of natural stone, and entrepreneurship.
The High Point Design Center is providing shuttle service to various showrooms, seminars and networking events. Most of the events will take place in the Hamilton-Wrenn district, Market Square and the IHFC.
