Summer Inspiration - David BromstadJuly 31, 2008Describe your idea or memory of the perfect summer place. Has anything about that special place in time provided inspiration for your work? My ideal getaway for a wonderfully lazy and balmy summer afternoon is right outside my door, the white sandy beaches in sunny Miami Beach. Even as I was growing up, the beach was always a hot spot for me, whether it was a lake in Minnesota or the west coast of Florida. Nothing’s better than baking in the warm sun, taking a swim in the crystal blue water and relaxing with friends and family while sipping on a cocktail. I always try to install something natural and fresh into my designs and the beach is one of the best places to get inspired. The colors of the water, sky and sand are absolutely breathtaking and combining that with Miami’s “best” bikinis, accessories, and beach necessities provide for a neverending variety of color combinations! I have been in search of a beach painting for my bedroom and have looked at thousands of paintings and none of them are what I am looking for. I know you would be able to create my dream painting! It would be great to be able to purchase one of your paintings, any chance of that ever happeing?

And as long as David Bromstad lives there, then it's a better place to be! I just hope I bump into him some day since I live there too! And yes, the beach is very inspirational with all it's fabulous colors like turquoise/aqua, coral, all the greens, and everything tropical that can also be theraputic as well.

Have you any plans to create an instructional type book on how to paint the way you do? I would love to know what type paints you use and I see you use a spray bottle while you are working to achieve the desired effect. I would love any tips you can provide on creating paintings the way that you do. Keep up the wonderful work and I will keep watching.

I fell in love with the bed spread that you put on the bed. It was a crinkle white with a dark brown strip down on each side. Where can I find this bed spread. I need it in a full size TLR
