Obama, Clinton or McCain? Which candidate would you prefer as a White House client & what would you do?
April 30, 2008

Does the White House really have money to redecorate? Don't they already have furniture? All kidding aside, this year's political race has been very exciting. We're looking to potentially change history by electing either the first African American or the first woman as president. Because Barack Obama's campaign is all about change, I think he's the most likely to shake things up in the White House living quarters. The White House has always been the showcase for our historic legacies in design and decor. But in 2009, I think we need to look to the future. America wants change. The White House should be our role model -- the White House needs to go Green!  It also needs more representation of twentieth century decor -- a little mid-century, a little transitional and a lot of environmentally green design elements. We'll repaint all the walls with organic paints in light tones of greys and whites, making them more energy efficient with light refraction. We'll use low pile contemporary carpets with recycled fibers. Fabrics will be made with environmentally friendly materials in rich and luxurious tone on tone colors of browns and greens, and clean lined mid-century case goods will be made with sustainable and recycled woods to endure the wear and tear of Obama's two soccer kids. And finally, after a hard day at the office, the living quarters will be filled with zen-like organic art to provide a soothing and calming sanctuary. --Brant Williams

I support Barack Obama and voted for him in the Texas primary! I imagine his wife, Michelle, has great design sense just judging from how she dresses. She seems to have a classic style (reminiscent of Jackie O.) and I would imagine that would carry over to any design changes she might make at the White House. Americans are ready for change, and so I do hope Barck Obama is the Democratic candidate for President.
