How To Sell A Trundle Bed

January 25, 2008 It takes a lot of effort to write frequently about one topic, but that’s what Home & Bedroom Furniture does.  They have been posting to their blog since May of 2007.  Frankly, some of their writing is quite humorous.  When I pulled up their earliest posts, it was apparent they are also creative.  The movie, Pirates of the Caribbean was due to hit the screens.  They asked “What does a pirate’s bedroom look like?”
In conjunction with the release of "Pirates of the Caribbean III: At World's End" on May 25, 2007, Home-and-Bedroom.com is sponsoring a pirate-themed essay contest.
Entrants  are asked to describe in 100 words a pirate's bedroom.
The best 100-word description the company receives between now and June 10, 2007 will be eligible to win a Disney "Pirates of The Caribbean: At The World's End" Twin Bed Comforter Set.
The blog has some innovative ways to choose a bed matched to your specific needs.
For example:
Teenage Bedroom Furniture Pleasing the Teenager
Bedroom Furniture for Busy People
New Bedroom Furniture For Middle Aged
Bedroom Furniture For Your Twenties
Bedroom Furniture For The Golden Years

The article that filled me with horror and yet admiration for a clever way to sell a trundle bed, was this entry Where Are All My Relatives Going to Sleep?

You’ve just found out that you have a bunch of relatives coming to stay at your home for the holidays, and as you look around and count sleeping quarters, you don’t have nearly enough room for all of them. A pullout couch will fit two, a full size air mattress two more, and the guest bedroom two more in the queen size bed. However, you need room for ten, meaning you need four more beds. The only place you have left is the library, where you have stacks and stacks of books you have yet to organize on the shelves. In here, you have just enough floor space to get around if you add one form of bedding. If you go shopping for daybeds, you’ll find a great solution for every problem, especially if you purchase a trundle daybed.
I would not want to put up ten relatives from out of town any time of year, especially the holidays.  I would give them the yellow pages open to “Motels”, but that’s me.  I do remember the wonderful summer vacations at the grand parents’ house in Idaho when I was a kid.  There were several families staying on the farm and we had a great time feeding the chickens and shucking corn on the back porch.  Hey, maybe I do need one of those trundle beds!
