Start A Conversation With Yourself
December 5, 2007
With less than a month left in 2007, it’s time to start a conversation with yourself, in the shower or driving in the car to evaluate 2007. Here are some questions from Nika Stewart: interior designer coach that prompted this post:
· Is your business supporting the lifestyle that you want to live?
· Are you attracting the type of client that you love to work with?
· Are you spending enough time on yourself and your loved ones?
· Are you making the kind of money that makes you feel truly wealthy?
If you answered "no" to any of the above, she'd like acquaint you with
a new program so you can “Take your business from where it is to where you want it to be.”
There’s certainly that way to go, but I have some real, basic questions:
Do you have a blog? How’s the traffic?
My first post at Landfair Furniture (Blog) Was Tuesday, March 15, 2005. Since that time traffic has grown from, “Oh look, someone found our site!” to about 4,500 visitors per month. Not bad, but I am meeting today with Janelle Baglien, owner of
Studio Art Direct, and her
Journal. who in the same amount of time has built her blog traffixc to 20,000 visitors a month and her goal is to reach 100,000 visitors a month. I want to know if her map for building traffic can be adapted to my blogs, including The Landfair Retail Focus.
Do you pay Google or Yahoo or Verizon for word and phrase searches that direct traffic to your web site?
We use all three, a kind of electronic phone book, but even better, because I can see what words and phrases are most effective and pay for higher placement of those words. But, I have lost track of my sales person that started me up. I am still paying Google about $100 per month and need to revisit and retune.
What are your goals?
Write them down as you think of them. How many hours do you work a day or a week? How many hours a day or week do you want to work? How many days do you want to work a week?
Do you need an assistant? Do you want to find another you? Let's not concern ourselves with the
HOW. Too many people get bogged down at that point. Let's just list our goals.
While you are at it, list goals for the other parts of your life: your mate, your physical you, your mental you, your family, your spiritual side, your community. If you think of a Tic Tac Toe Box, each section has a place for each part of your life. You are most at peace if there is a balance between sections. You can easily see if an imbance is occuring in your life by looking at your goals for each section.
