RECONNECT!
April 10, 2008
Do you receive the One Coast newsletter? I do and it’s filled with tons of useful information.
What is
One Coast?
OneCoast is the largest wholesale provider of Home, Gift & Collegiate products to U.S. retailers & designers.
We help hundreds of vendors market and sell their products to thousands of retail organizations across the United States.
OneCoast is in the wholesale business and does not sell or market directly to consumers.
In the latest newsletter (

WhizBang! Training writes that yes, most everything you read about the economy is bad and you have no control over any of it. You DO have control over “your reaction to what’s happening with the economy.”
You are in the relationship business, he writes. “One of the most effective, least expensive ways to get people into your store and spending money is to RECONNECT!”
Here are five ways to Reconnect, according to Negen,:
- Reconnect with your best customers. Send them a handwritten card telling them how much you appreciate their business and include a gift certificate to show your thanks.
- Reconnect with people who haven't shopped with you in a while. Send them a "we haven’t seen you in awhile and we miss you" letter along with a gift certificate.
- Reconnect with non-profit organizations. Put together a fundraiser that helps them raise money and brings people into your store. We just donated a sofa to an organization that provides furniture to those in need. We have donated items to the women’s shelter.
- Reconnect with your best vendors. See if they have any special deals you can take advantage of. They are also the best source for ideas of what’s working. They can also conduct seminars for you.
- Reconnect with your colleagues. Important: if they start whining, whimpering and whispering, get off the phone immediately!·
Bob Negen’s Bottom line: When you hear recession, think reconnect!
