U.S. Mydeco Is Coming

mydeco is coming to the U.S..  Since 2007, mydeco is a "beast",  the UK's leading home furniture and furnishings website, with links to 800 retailers.  Now mydeco "has announced plans to launch a US website targeting the American home and home furnishings online market worth an estimated $121 billion. Us.mydeco.com, which is already live and expanding rapidly, currently collects together over 300 retailers and will hit 500 by the end of October 2009."

The mydeco website has four sections; Shopping, Design Your Home, Style Insider and Outlet.  The Shopping section displays a huge "collection of living room furniture, bedroom furniture, dining room furniture and home accessories. Products are searchable by essential criteria like price, color and dimension. The Design Your Home section offers a free interior design tools using a 3D Complete Room Planner.  The Style Insider section offers all sorts of inforamtion about what's hot.  Finally, the Outlet section offers bargains daily at 40% to 80% off retail on items you may have overstocked. 

The US mydeco hopes to replicate the success of the UK site, offering the same comprehensive home wares search, stylish, curated shopping experience and a buzzing home design community. The site also hopes to be able to fill the gap left by the close of Domino magazine – the much loved US Conde Nast home design magazine that folded in February 09 – by offering a way to find stylish furniture and home accessories from an unparalleled range of retailers, along with expert home design advice.

I'm excited about the prospect of our products included in a searchable database with other domestic retailers.  I have questions and I've emailed the company.  I'll post more about getting included and costs in the near future.
