The Luxury Consumer's Toys

October 19, 2007
The other day in posting about the luxury consumer, I wrote they

    * Are the top 10% wealthiest U.S. Households based on Net Worth
    * Are 11 million households who can choose to live a 360-degree luxury lifestyle
    * Own 70% of all the wealth in the U.S.
    * Have an average net worth of $3.1 million
    * Have an average annual income of $256,000
    * Earn 45% of the aggregate annual income in the U.S.

I came across the blog Smarter Home and Garden Blog written by Michelle Fernando and she has found some of the toys of the luxury consumer:

The table is custom made by the DB Fletcher Design and the average price of a table is between $49,000 and $70,000. “…when rotated at its outer perimeter, amazingly doubles its seating capacity and, just as astonishingly, remains truly circular. Very importantly it stores its expansion leaves within itself.”  DB Fletcher is located in Walton-on-Thames Surrey, UK and in Paradise Valley, AZ.

The second luxury item from Laguna in Germany is a custom made wooden bathtub for one or two and can be “installed direct(ly) in a bathroom or yacht. The use of wood as natural material in combination with our know-how from modern yacht building makes it possible for us to produce for you your personalized bathtub.”  Keep in mind, “We use only certified wood from forests with controlled felling and reforestation.”

The last item is a chair designed by Vladimir Kagan.  He should charge for just the peek at it:

Do you have some items for the luxury consumer.  Email a description and link to landfair3554@comcast.net.
