Touchstone catalog shutting down; Spring events at L&M Designs, District Designs

Touchstone home decor catalog is shutting down. The company mailed its last book February 25 and will continue to take orders through the end of April. Touchstone was founded in 1989 by interior designer Sarah Luce. Luce said the company was significantly impacted by the 2007 postal increase, the shrinking availabilityof circulation lists for rent and, eventually, a drop in sales due to the economy.

L&M Designs, Gaithersburg, Md., is hosting "Frolic in the Vineyard" May 2nd at
Running Hare Vineyards in Prince Frederick, Md. After starting the days with mimosas and private shopping, guests will board a luxury bus for the 300-acre vineyard where they will enjoy lunch before touring the estate and sampling wines. Space is limited. For reservations or more information, email

District Designs of Tampa, Florida is hosting an event Thurs., March 12, from 5-7:30 p.m. Guests may enjoy light hors 'oeuvres and cocktails while checking out new inventory, with 30% off the entire store that evening.
