STORE OPENINGS, EXPANSIONS (Fall, 2007)

Minneapolis -- Twin Cities Green, a home accessories and green lifestyle store, recently opened in Uptown Minneapolis, at 2045 Hennepin Avenue South. The 3,400 square feet store is owned by Ryan and Tina North. The business has also partnered with Do It Green Minnesota to establish an in-store resource center and with High Tech Energy Solutions to provide examples of eco-friendly home improvement ideas.

Palm Beach, Fla. -- Nancy Corzine has chosen Palm Beach as the site for her first retail location, scheduled to open in November. The 2,000-sq.-ft. space, which formerly housed Lars Bolander, is located at 375 South County Rd. and will incorporate the interior designer, furniture and fabric entrepreneur's signature neutral palette. The shop will house a rotating collection of Corzine's furniture and lighting designs, beaded pillows, silver, crystal and a new candle collection. The new location will feature seasonal trunk shows and exhibitions and will open with a showing of work by interior illustrator Jeremiah Goodman.

Austin, Tx. -- A second location of
Loft Home Decor, owned by Kelly Judd Schwartz, is scheduled for a November opening at The Domain in Austin. The home accessories mix will include contemporary, classic and sustainable offerings.

Old Saybrook, Ct. --
Saybrook Country Barn expects the 22,000-sq-ft. expansion of its home furnishings complex to be completed this fall. The addition includes a 130-seat restaurant, leather shop, rug shop, home office and home theater shop and a lighting and hardware shop. The $2 million addition increases the Country Barn’s total square footage to 42,000.

Cary, N.C. –
The Pink Alli celebrated its grand opening Oct. 6 in Stone Creek Village. The store features accessories and gifts, bath and body products, home accents, jewelry, and garden décor. Co-owners are Pat and Allison Leggett.

Charleston, S.C. -- Luxury linen retailer Nancy Koltes at Home recently opened a store at 438 King St. in Charleston. Products include adult and children's bed linens, down and feather bedding, towels, lounge wear, and home accessories.

Rocky Mount, N.C. -- Kathy Perkins opened Sunny Side Up, a gift, tabletop and home accents boutique, at 833 Country Club Drive. Perkins is joined in the business by her daughter, Lori Bostic.

Charlotte, N.C. -- Sweet Grass, a furniture, home accessories and gift store, opened Sept. 15 in the Mooresville Town Square retail center. Product selections include Archipelago Botanicals, Hill House, and Candice Olson for Norwalk. Sweet Grass is owned by Carol Bickford (mother of  NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon), attorney Deb Haskett and interior designer Michelle Harris.

Baltimore, Md. -- Bagby Scheiber Classic Home retail and design boutique celebrated its grand opening at Stevenson Village Oct. 4. The mid to high-end shop showcases mostly traditional and transitional home furnishings and is owned by Rita Bagby and Linda Scheiber. Park Ridge, Ill. -- Amphora Home Furnishings opened Sept. 2nd at 149 N. Northwest Hwy in Park Ridge.

South Lyon, Mich. -- Grande Trunke Home opened Sept. 15th at 105 N. Lafayette. The store, owned by Susan Stowe sells distinctive home décor and gifts.

Barrington, Ill. -- The Barrington Home Shoppe, formerly
The Canterbury Shoppe, has moved to a new location in the Ice House Mall, offering an expanded collection of upscale artisan gifts, tabletop items, home accents and holiday collectibles from  Tutto Mio, Peggy Karr, Nambe, Christopher Radko and others. 

Sarasota, Fl. --
Chasen Reed opened a second store in San Marco Plaza in Lakewood Ranch. The home accessories store offers hand-painted silk plants and preserved trees, furniture, accessory pieces, art, art glass, and chandeliers. Owners Toulouse Kellam and Pam Kantor are also opening a wine cellar adjacent to the store, to be available for tastings.La Jolla, Calif. – Seaside Home retail and design boutique is opening a third location in Rancho Santa Fe this month. Seaside Home, owned by Sheryll Jackman, offers an upscale array of high-end quality brands. Jackman is past president of the San Diego chapter of the ASID.

Richmond, Va. – Cozi opened in a new Richmond location in Ivy Mount Square on Midlothian Turnpike, Sat., Sept 1.
 
Chicago, Ill. – Chiaroscuro home accessories and gift store has moved from Chicago Place mall, where it has operated since 1992, to a 5,000-sq.-ft. store on the second level at Water Tower Place. 

Cumberland, Md. -- Country Accents on Greene, specializing in primitive and country home accents, recently opened at 72 Greene Street. Owner Debbie Cowgill is hosting an open house at the store Nov. 17 & 18.

Bellingham, Wa. -- Surroundings recently opened in downtown Lynden. Owned by Christa and Mark Warren, Surroundings offers a selection of home accessories, florals, watercolors, jewelry, handbags, cards and soaps. 

Waynesville, N.C. -- Lee Cathey-Bell has returned to her native environs to open Mahogany House, an upscale home furnishings store, in a space her grandfather built in the early 1900s on Depot Street in Waynesville.
