April 23, 2008
Maryland retailer/designer Lynni Megginson is celebrating the 11th anniversary of her company, L&M Designs, Friday, May 2nd at the store's Gaithersburg location. The event, which is being co-sponsored by Southern Lady Magazine, will feature special guest Beatriz Ball who will be signing purchased pieces of her handmade aluminum oven-to-tableware. "When I saw that Southern Lady had done an article about Beatriz in their April issue, I knew I had to contact them to be a part of our event," Megginson said. "Our clientele is perfect for both of these wonderful companies, and we're looking forward to the big day."Goodie bags worth in excess of $200 will go to the first 50 guests. "I am a big believer that you should really raise the bar when you're celebrating something as wonderful as eleven years in business!" Megginson said.
Established in 1997, L&M Designs has been recognized by Home Accents Today as one of the country's top 50 Retail Stars (2005). Megginson has served on Home Accents Today's retail advisory board for several years and is membership co-chair for ART (Accessories Resource Team). She is the author of "The Absolutely Essential Guide to Planning Fabulous Retail Events," available at www.bestfriendsmarketing.com. The Beatriz Ball Collection was a finalist at the 19th annual ART awards this past January. The entirely handcrafted line of aluminum serving ware is made from age old techniques of sand molds that are filled with molten aluminum, individually polished to give every piece its own distinctive look. The line is wholesaled exclusively across the country by OneCoast.
Nashville, Tenn. -- The Beveled Edge framing and gift store, opened by Susan Taylor in August 1983, is celebrating its silver anniversary. The shop began as a custom framing and diy shop but has evolved into a thriving gift shop that offers fine home accessories, eclectic gifts and novelty items.
“For 25 years, The Beveled Edge has made it our mission to help customers find the perfect frame - whether for a priceless work of art or for their child’s drawing - in a comfortable, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere,” Taylor said. “We are so grateful for the continued support and patronage of our customers and look forward to many more years of providing Nashville with superior framing and unique gifts.”
In 2007, music industry veteran William Smithson joined the company as partner and co-owner of the store. In the past year, the store expanded at its current location, 73 White Bridge Rd # 114, occupying the space next door and increasing its sales floor to 4400 sq ft.
