First impressions: WMC's Building C
July 29, 2008
World Market Center’s third building is making its big debut this week here in Las Vegas. Everything to be seen is now in Building A, B or C – no more offsite or pavilion temporaries. The central plaza/courtyard connecting it all is an expanse of nice flat concrete – a fix that means a lot to those of us (including yours truly) who have ever had the delightful experience of missing one of the old annoying curb steps and falling flat on her face in front of the whole wide World Market Center. The skewed architecture intrigues and interests, getting around (once you’re here) is easy, and WMC’s misty rain pumps and iced coolers of water bottles keep visitors refreshed and invigorated. For the first time, it’s clear how everything was meant to fit together – and it’s really quite nice. But that’s just my opinion. Here are a few more:
Building C is great – just a fun building. The more meandering the better! --Gail Michel, Retail Division Buyer, La-z-Boy, Monroe, Mich.
We just arrived and this is the first space we’ve visited, in Building C. So far, everything looks good… We’ve been to Atlanta, but it’s nice to see rugs being well represented in Vegas as well. --Michael Mazer and David Smythia, Mazer Discount Home Centers, Birmingham, Ala.
This is my third time in Vegas … I started in Building C today. I was very curious and excited because there are a lot of vendors I’ve wanted to see and they’re here finally -- linens especially and accessories. --Ronna Braselton, Interiors by Braselton, Corpus Christi, Texas
The long lines at registration were terrible… we stood in line for half an hour. I haven’t seen much of the new building yet. --Kathy Leffler, Home Decorators Collection, Hazelwood, Mo.
We’ve been in business 6 ½ years. I’ve been to High Point several times. This is less expensive to get to and there are more places to stay. Getting around is great; they’ve got it very well marked. --Babe Luthy and Leola Bish, Plum Street Interiors & Gifts, Doniphan, Neb.
