Best iPad, iPhone, Android apps for retailers
Michael's blog and list of retailer apps are at: www.softwareadvice.com/articles/retail/best-retail-apps-for-the-iphone-ipad-and-android-phones-1022811/
Software Advice, which I first wrote about in December, researches and sifts through multitudes of applications and technologies, both existing and emerging, so we don't have to. Their consultation service is free, and they have a whole section dedicated to Retail: POS, inventory, customer info and warehouse management systems, retail accounting, e-commerce and merchandise planning.

I am thinking of developing an android app for my fashion wholesale website www.cleocat-fashion.com. It makes sense since there are increasingly more android phone users these days.

Joe,
Interactive Catalog is a universal catalog where manufacturers can distribute their information in a like format so training is minimal at the retail level. Each retailer gets to pick what retail price is shown and each rep can control distribution by hiding models. Check out www.interactivecatalog.net and go to the "about us" for a video demonstration. This could very well change the industry! There are over 450 retail doors currently using this product and the price is minimal for the manufacturer.

Susan,
What is this web site about? www.interactivecatalog.net I watched the video Demo under "About Us" and it looked really good. Is this really free to retailers?

I am a retail sale associate and I use the interactive catalog daily. This tool is AWESOME! You do need a login and password. I believe contact information is on the home page. It is totally worth checking into. Bill

To Susan E -- regarding interactivecatalog.net -- tried to go in and look around but it requires a login/password. Anyone else tried this?

Susan,
There's a new upholstery web based catlaog system that's free to retailers. I saw a retailer using it and it looks really good! The web site is www.interactivecatalog.net. Do you know anything about this because I would be curious to know more.

Great article and link. I bought one I didn't know about. I also already had one that saved my life during 4th quarter in 2010.
