LAS VEGAS - Kardashian Khaos, a lifestyle boutique, has soft-opened at The Mirage. The 1,100-sq.-ft. shop Trend Lighting. From Trend's Pantages chandelier series, the fixture is 48" diameter and made of hundreds of individual braided glass arms attached to a polished chrome frame with hand-woven metal strips. The store's grand opening is Dec. 1. The Kardashians recently filed documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to use the name "Kardashian Kollection Home" on items ranging from softgoods and candlesticks to flatware and window blinds, according to a report by TMZ.
NEW YORK - Chris Burch opened C. Wonder in a 7,200-sq.-ft. space at 27 Spring St. in SoHo. Burch, formerhusband of the fashion designer Tory Burch, plans to open three more C. Wonder stores this year, and as many as 20 locations in 2012. Burch's shop offers clothing, dinnerware, accessories, gifts and home décor.
NEW CANAAN, Conn. - Megan Freyer and Margaret Schwartz are the new owners of home decor shop The Summer House, formerly owned by Tyler Taylor. The store has relocated to 32 Forest St.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Nambe opened at 15257 N. Scottsdale Road, selling barware, dinnerware, flatware and modern home décor. Catherine Crandall opened Abode Fine Living at 15505 N. Scottsdale Rd. Abode sells home-decor, accessories, lighting, gifts and furniture.
NAPLES, Fla. - Norris Home Furnishings' owner Larry Norris announced the opening of his newest showroom, at 5015 TamiamiTrail North. In the last 18 months, Norris also opened showrooms in Fort Myers, at 14125 S. Tamiami Trail, and Sanibel, at 1025 Periwinkle Way. The company offers interior and outdoor furnishings, accessories and complete window and wall treatments.
ROCKVILLE, Md. - A grand opening event is scheduled for a new 62,000-sq.-ft. Bob's Discount Furniture here Nov. 10, the third new Bob's in the D.C. metro area in six months.The Rockville store will be a flagship store and the company's largest to date, with retail and clearance centers. It is expected to create about 100 jobs. With the new store, the company will have 43 stores in New England and the Eastern U.S. To show its commitment to the Rockville community, Bob's will use the grand opening to present checks totaling $20,000 for 12 local schools as part of the company's Outreach program. Company president Bob Kaufman will be on hand for the ribbon-cutting.
LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Megan Winters Atelier and Maison celebrated its grand opening October 28th at 675 LakeForest. Winters creates haute couture for the home using color, sophisticated interiors and furnishings.
HIGH POINT, N.C. - Gates on Ward, an antique mall and home furnishings outlet, will reopen with a new name under new ownership and management, according to the Greensboro News & Record. Renamed the Gates Design Center, the business is located in the former Henredon furniture complex on Ward Ave., houses multiple vendors, and will have more of a design focus.
LOS ANGELES - Jenny Best and Katharina Tagliaferro opened Zouk Los Angeles at 1311 Montana Ave. Zoukoffers home décor from around the world, hand-selected by Best and Tagliaferro, who are sisters. A percentage from each sale goes to one of five charities, as designated by the shopper: Doctors Without Borders, AmFAR, World FoodProgram, The Human Society or Ocean Park Community Center.
