SCAD Student Ryland Quillen Takes Top Prize in Project UDesign Competition in High Point

The Alifair wing chair by Ryland Quillen takes top prize in the Project UDesign contest.

Savannah College of Art and Design student Ryland Quillen was awarded first place in the Project UDesign competition for his Alifair wing chair design at a ceremony during the High Point Market this week. Century Furniture will begin production of the chair next year, with Quillen receiving royalties on sales. He also received $1,000 from Cargill BiOH, another of the project sponsors. The other finalists in the competition were SCAD students Emily Carpenter and Matt Gray. More.
