Eleven Questions To Ask Before Hiring An Interior Designer.

June 1, 2008

Back in January 2006, Landfair Furniture (Blog) wrote a post titled Eight Questions to Ask Before Hiring an Interior Designer.  The eight questions were part of an article in Home magazine of January 2006, and we linked to the magazine, but the article is gone.

One of our frustrations is not all articles are archived.  If you click on the link above, you land on the magazine’s website, but it’s the June 2008 issue and the “Eight Questions…" are gone!

So, the Landfair Furniture (Blog) has updated the list. You can find it at Eleven Questions to Ask Before Hiring an Interior Designer.

Did we ask your question.  Email me at landfair3554@comcast.net and  I’ll be happy to add to the list.

Cassie, I put your question to the Interior design group at Linked in and this was the response from Stephanie Brown: "There's no one good answer to that question - so much depends on whether you like warm colors or cool colors; what types of fabrics, rugs and other items you have in the room; what kind of lighting sources you have in the room.. all of those factors work together when selecting a wall color. It may be worth experimenting with some of the online color visualizer tools to give you an idea of what you do and don't like before settling on a color. (Or, if you have access to - and know how to use - Photoshop, you can "paint" a photo of your room with a variety of colors to see which look you like best with your furniture and floors. Check out the links to color visualizer tools at the paint companies.
