Kirkland’s posts sales increase
Kirkland's, Inc. reported a net sales increase of 4.8% to $91.0 million for the second fiscal quarter ended July 29, 2006, compared with $86.8 million for the second quarter ended July 30, 2005. Comparable store sales for the period decreased 9.0% compared with a 10.2% decrease for the second quarter of fiscal 2005. The company reported a second quarter net loss of $5.6 million, or $0.29 per diluted share compared with a net loss of $5.7 million, or $0.29 per diluted share, for the prior-year period.   more >>

Dallas continues expansion
Dallas Market Center is revealing new details on its new 500,000-sq.-ft. expansion to the Trade Mart. The Trade Mart is the only market space custom-designed exclusively for the lighting industry. Some lighting tenants have already received the keys to their showrooms weeks early and are beginning finish-outs of their new spaces. The expansion, which is 100% leased and opening in January 2007, will double the lighting marketplace and give Dallas 1 million square feet dedicated solely to lighting.   more >>
