    Jacksonville, Fla. -- Stein Mart, Inc.'s sales for the five weeks ended Dec. 31, 2008 were down 9.3%, and comparable store sales were down 8.5%, compared to the fourth quarter of 2007 which was reported by sister publication Home Textiles Today last summer as the company’s worst quarter in company history.     Area Rug sales over the next five years are expected to increase nationallyu by 12.6%, going from $5 billion in 2008 to $5.6 billion in 2013, according to the most recent projections by New York-based Easy Analytic Software Inc. (EASI). The report also includes estimates of 2008 area rug sales, along with projections of 2013 sales for each of the four census regions.
