Designer Natalie Kruch covered a solid wood stool with more than 500 candy-hued balloons for Umbra’s studio line, the U+ Collection. Merging craft with modern aesthetics, the Balloona stool reflects Umbra’s commitment to using innovative materials to design imaginative and unexpected products. The best part: It’s not just for children.
Interior designer Kat Burki’s lifestyle line makes its first public appearance at High Point in October. The classic-yet-chic collection draws on decidedly luxurious offerings: handmade chandeliers and sconces from France, Italian luxury linens, Turkish bath towels and spa products, and domestic, made-to-order furniture with peg and dowel construction, horsehair-wrapped springs and thickly wrapped down cushioning. The upholstery line is fully customizable from a selection of more than 200 fabrics, including Burki’s own signature prints.
