Tabletop trends: Lasting impressions

Lindsey Strader -- Home Accents Today,02/01/2009

Plates, serveware and glassware flaunt pattern-bedecked surfaces full of irresistible texture and depth, bringing a dollop of flair to the table this season. Designers draw inspiration from a variety of sources including textiles, bamboo and henna tattoos. While some offerings are highly interpretational, others remain true to form.

The Indian henna hand motif seems to be everywhere I look lately. I wonder if we will continue to see more henna inspired designs. It seems to go along with the intricate lacey patterns that are heating up.
